Weeraketiya Rajapaksha Central College began its illustrious journey in 1940 as one of the first few Central Colleges born from the
vision of late Dr. C.W.W. Kannangara. Today, this institution moves forward, inheriting a great history of more than 65 years .
One lovely day in 1990, six past pupils of Weeraketiya Rajapaksha Central College met at the Sambodi Viharaya in Fort, Colombo and
had a discussion to find the ways of meeting their school friends and help the school they studied. The out come was the
Past Pupils' Friendship Association Colombo Chapter of the Weeraketiya Rajapaksha Central College with the following objectives,
- Build a team of strength and character out of all past pupils and teachers of the College scattered all over the world.
- Develop friendship and brotherhood among the membership, paving the way for mutual assistance where needed
- Facilitate the upgrading of the college academic, extra curricular activities and infrastructure, while assisting career
guidance activities of the students.
- Share ideas and partnering with other old pupil associations of the College
- facilitate community development activities for the neighborhood communities around the college
